If anyone knows about London's wine scene, it's Louis Fernando. Having worked as a PR and marketing consultant for Borough Wines, and – more recently – the Vinoteca Restaurant Group, Louis knows the movers and shakers within the local industry, as well as the best places to taste their wares (and be seen tasting their wares).
A former marketing man involved in the London Olympics, Louis left his job once the athletics had run their course. Heading home to the southern hemisphere, he quickly made a beeline for New Zealand's Stonyridge winery, where he took something of a left-turn, immersing himself in the joys of measuring the PH of grapes and scrubbing out 2000-litre stainless-steel tanks (as well as learning a bit about winemaking). On his return to Europe, it made sense that Louis involved himself in London's food and drink scene, rather than its athletic meets.
In his spare time, Louis authors Tuck & Vine, a website focused on drinking and dining experiences in the city. He also writes about local wine and restaurant happenings for publications including Hot Dinners, Borough Market and Social Concierge.
