A native New Yorker, Richard moved to Paris in 2005 after falling in love with the City of Light as a teenager. With a background as a cultural event planner, he was perfectly positioned to tackle walking tours, which he originally did for friends and family around his neighbourhood, The Marais. Something Richard aims to preserve in his tours is the sense that a friend is guiding you around the city. “People have a fantasy about Paris,” Richard says, “and my job is to fulfil that vision of Paris the best way I can.”
While Richard shares with you factual tidbits and historical stories, he also hopes to show a personal insight into the neighbourhoods he visits. Perfect for the first-time visitor to Paris looking to see the iconic sights of Paris before discovering a vibrant neighbourhood in depth, or the seasoned traveller with unusual interests. Ask Richard anything, and he’s happy to share facts, opinions and personal anecdotes from a rich life in Paris.
"I did two tours with Richard—Le Marais and Saint Germain the next day. I had a fantastic time, learned so much and enjoyed Richard's company, I had him to myself. It was essentially like hanging out with a friend and really good exercise too. Thank you so much Richard, I wish you all the best and hope to see you again."
